Registration: Open now
Class: 2 day workshop on Saturday October 14th and Sunday October 15th.
Times: From 10am - 4 pm each day.
Note: this is not a residential workshop, no accommodation is provided.
Details: Day one.
In this workshop we will be working initially within a short walking distance of the Art Centre, around the Ballinglen river area. We will be exploring drawing using materials such as graphite, charcoal, ink -- even materials to hand outside such as earth – brushes, sponges, rags, sticks. Fragile work can be documented photographically as we go but also brought back to the centre as carefully as possible to be laid out and discussed.
This is an all weather conditions workshop - come dressed for the conditions (possibly wet and cold). We will provide plastic sheeting to protect the work.
Most of the materials suggested above will be provided including large scale paper and drawing boards. Do bring a notebook. The emphasis will be on bringing back from the working walk evidence of what each person found interesting from being/walking in the area around the Ballinglen river, getting as much as possible from the activity of “drawing”.
Day two.
There will be the option of revisiting the area and doing more work OR developing work from day one in the centre, experimenting with elements such as scale, materials. Or, a combination of the two. This can be discussed on an individual basis.
