Catherine Farish has so generously offered this two-day printmaking workshop to facilitate artists in the area. Collography is a versatile, non-toxic method of printmaking which easily lends itself to experimentation. It also serves as an excellent learning tool in understanding printmaking in general. Using a variety of materials starting with compressed white cardboard, we will learn different collograph techniques using carborundum, collage and acrylic textured mediums. We will then learn how to ink and wipe the plates, making prints and beginning to explore the unlimited possibilities that collograph printmaking offers.
