The Ballinglen Gallery

The Gallery was established in 2000. Its exhibitions relate directly to works made on Ballinglen's Fellowship Programme. Thus the community and visitors to the area, have continual access to works of the highest international standard, inspired by this locality, created by artists many have met in their community.

National & International Exhibitions

Major exhibitions are curated using the entire pool of Ballinglen Fellows in response to invitations from institutions such as The RHA Gallagher Gallery, Dublin, Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge, Kildare, The Contemporary Art Society, London, The Art Institute of New Hampshire, Manchester, The Art Alliance, Philadelphia, Glucksman Ireland House, New York University, The McMullen Museum of Art, Boston College, The U.S. Ambassador's Residence, Dublin, The List Gallery, Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania, Concord Art Association, Massachusetts, Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, Mayo

These provide important exhibition opportunities for Fellowship artists. Accompanying catalogues documenting works by Ballinglen Fellows are often produced. In addition an awareness of the unique qualities of North Mayo is fostered abroad, encouraging cultural and green tourism in the area.
